Joshua cofounded devX following a 20-year career in both the public and private sectors.
Josh brings to the team 10 years of middle school math and science instruction with a passion for project based learning. Josh is an experience provider of PD for teachers. He has provided PD for NASA, the US Department of Energy, California Association of Independent Schools, Association of Science and Technology Centers, Tennessee Association for the Education for the Young Child and direct trainings at schools. He led in the creation of the STEM education curriculum “Bird on a STEM” for the Baltimore Orioles. He has written lesson for National Geographic and has two TED education videos. Most recently Josh has authored 2 books for Nomad Press focusing on STEM topics and providing hands on activities for teachers and students. As the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator at the Department of Energy, Josh was recognized by the Secretary of Energy for his work focusing on engaging minority students in STEM. While at the DOE he was successful in creating a new series for the NOAA, Science on a Sphere, executive directing 8 videos on energy literacy, and assisting in the creation of a STEM mentoring Cafes for young girls.
Joshua holds a master’s degree in education leadership from Framingham State University, and a bachelor's of arts degree in geology and environmental science from James Madison University.
